Why I Run

In 2023, my dad had a kidney transplant, and it was a tough time for my family and me. Thankfully, he made a full recovery and is thriving now, but that experience completely changed my perspective. Moving to New York just two months after his surgery was challenging, but seeing his resilience pushed me to keep going.
 

Now, I want to show some toughness of my own. That’s why I’m running this race with Team Kidney—to raise awareness and funds for those affected by kidney disease.
 

Right now, 37 million American adults are living with kidney disease, and 1 in 3 people are at risk. More than 1 in 7 already have it but don’t even know. That’s why I’m committed to supporting the National Kidney Foundation, which has been at the forefront of research, treatment guidelines, and advocacy to improve patient care.

A little about me: I’m from Overland Park, Kansas, went to the University of Kansas, and moved to NYC after graduation. I love working out, going to Chiefs games, and spending time with friends and family. This will be my first major running event, and I couldn’t be more excited to do it for a cause that means so much to me.
