Steps For Second Chances - Why I Run
Less than a year ago, I made the life-changing decision to become a living kidney donor for my sister-in-law, who was in urgent need of a transplant. It was one of the most challenging yet rewarding choices I’ve ever made. Through this experience, I learned the true meaning of courage, resilience, and the incredible power of giving.
Donating my kidney not only gave my sister-in-law a second chance at life but also sparked a new outlook on my own. I was inspired and motivated to embrace challenges I never thought possible. Now, 10 months after my donation, I am proud to be running the NYC Half Marathon on behalf of the National Kidney Foundation.
This journey is about more than running or raising funds—it’s about celebrating the strength we all have to make a difference, even when faced with difficult decisions. It’s about proving that even the hardest things in life can lead to the most beautiful outcomes.
Through my fundraising efforts, I hope to support the National Kidney Foundation in their mission to provide resources and hope to those affected by kidney disease. Together, we can spread awareness, inspire others, and show that courage and positivity can change lives. Thank you for being a part of this journey with me!
