Why I Run

I never thought i would be a runner.

In 2022, i was told i was pre-diabetic and weighed around 200 pounds. As a new nurse, i knew exactly what that meant and it scared me. So i made a decision to change my life. I started to go to the gym, learned how to fuel my body, and slowly began to lose weight. But most importantly, i started. gaining confidence

Running wasn't part of the plan. it actually started as a joke back in nursing school. it was something i never thought i'd be capable of. In January 2024, i signed up for a half marathon on a whim. Training was hard, uncomfortable, and honestly intimidating at first. I kept showing up and somewhere along the way, i fell in love with it.

What started as a challenge became something much bigger, it became a part of who i am.

This journey isn't just about me

My mom is currently battling kidney disease and undergoing dialysis multiple times a week. Ive seen firsthand how exhausting, time consuming and life altering this process is, not just for patient but their families too. As a nurse, i understand the clinical side. As a daughter, i feel the emotional weight of it every day.

Thats why I am running the NYC marathon with Team Kidney. Every mile i run is for my mom and the millions of people affected by kidney disease who are still waiting for better treatments, better outcomes, and more hope.

I am raising funds for the National Kidney Foundation to support research, patient care, and life saving programs. if you are able to donate, share or support in any way it truly means everything.

This race is more than just 26.2 miles. Its for family. Its for a future where kidney disease doesn't take too much from the people we love

Join me in making these advances possible by donating to my efforts!

Thank you for your support and being on this journey with me!
