For the past 20 years as a practicing nephrologist, I’ve had the privilege of caring for patients and their families facing kidney disease. From managing chronic kidney disease to navigating dialysis and kidney transplantation, I’ve seen firsthand the challenges patients and families endure — and the incredible strength they show along the way.
Kidney disease affects millions of people and often goes unnoticed until it becomes severe:
• It is the 8th leading cause of death in the U.S., causing more deaths each year than breast or prostate cancer.
• Nearly 40% of adults with advanced kidney disease don’t know they have it.
• Every day, 12 people die waiting for a kidney transplant.
Many of you also know that running has always been an important part of my life. This year, I wanted to combine that passion with a meaningful cause by raising money for the National Kidney Foundation.
For more than 75 years, the National Kidney Foundation has advanced kidney research, patient advocacy, education, and support for patients and families. Their work brings hope and expands access to life-saving care and transplantation.
If you’re able, I would truly appreciate your support. Every donation helps make a difference for patients living with kidney disease and for the families who stand beside them.
Thank you for your kindness and support.
