This year marks the fifth anniversary of my father, Dr. Masood Pervez, passing after his courageous battle with Membranous Glomerulonephritis (MGN), a rare kidney disease. He dedicated his life to serving others with compassion, integrity, and humility. Watching his journey through kidney disease profoundly shaped my understanding of the challenges patients and their families face every day.

On November 1, 2026, I will run the TCS New York City Marathon with Team Kidney in his memory. Every one of the 26.2 miles will honor his life and support the National Kidney Foundation’s mission to improve the lives of those affected by kidney disease through research, advocacy, education, and patient support.

Beyond my personal connection, I have remained committed to improving access to kidney care, including helping establish dialysis bays in Pakistan for patients who otherwise have limited access to life-sustaining treatment. This marathon is another way for me to continue that commitment while honoring the man who inspired it.
