Name: Dr. Bradley A. Warady

Years of Service: 46

NKF Office: NKF Serving Kansas & Missouri

Why Dr. Warady was nominated:
Dr. Warady has taken advantage of his opportunity as an NKF Board Member to do what he has done throughout his career: advocate for children affected by kidney disease. He helped initiate a successful collaboration between the National Kidney Foundation, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the American Society of Pediatric Nephrology to enhance educational materials available for patients and families. He also co-chaired the first NKF Scientific Workshop on Chronic Kidney Disease in Children, a unique forum because of its inclusion of patients and parents to help develop practical treatment recommendations designed to improve the care of children with kidney disease. "I feel very honored to serve on the Board of the National Kidney Foundation, having spent nearly three decades working with the organization on a variety of initiatives at both the national and local level," said Dr. Warady. “There remains a great deal to be accomplished in the areas of awareness, prevention, and treatment, as defined in the NKF's strategic plan. The likelihood of successfully accomplishing the goals within the lofty plan starts with leadership, and I sincerely welcome the opportunity and responsibility that accompanies a position of leadership within the organization as a member of the Board.” Dr. Warady’s major areas of research are chronic kidney disease (CKD) and end-stage renal disease (ESRD) management of children. His work with children only emphasized the challenges they face and underscored the need for a traditional summer camp experience for his patients. He subsequently started Camp ChiMer, which has been operating for nearly 40 years.

Name: Mikey Noble

Years of Service: 7

NKF Office: NKF Serving Colorado

Why Mikey was nominated:
“My journey with NKF began in 2017 when I created a team for the Denver Kidney Walk to honor my uncle’s life-saving sacrifice. I was overwhelmed by the incredible support from my family, friends, and the larger kidney community in Colorado. One of my most cherished memories is pushing my 92-year-old grandmother in her wheelchair around the Kidney Walk course in New Mexico. We were recognized as one of the top fundraising teams that summer and the celebration was a beautiful moment for my whole family. Over the years, my involvement deepened. I joined the Denver Kidney Walk planning committee, and eventually, I was honored to serve on the NKF Board of Directors for Colorado and New Mexico. Being part of the mission to support patients, advocate for change, and push for a future where kidney disease isn’t a life sentence.”
