Welcome to my Fundraise Your Way fundraiser

Melissa Roy
In Honor of Paula Turley Sutcliffe
1 in 7 Americans are affected by Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), a debilitating condition that demands constant care and management. According to the National Kidney Foundation, approximately 37 million people in the United States suffer from CKD, and many more are at risk. It is crucial to raise both awareness and funds to improve the quality of life for those affected by this disease.
This fundraising journey is in honor of my friend Paula, whose zest for life and love of activities inspired many, including myself. Paula was passionate about playing board games, watching sports, and she was the reason I started playing volleyball. I would have no idea when I started playing volleyball with her church group on Monday nights in 2013 how that would impact my life. Leagues, Tournaments, Travel… Volleyball became a way of life, and I am very thankful I received that opportunity.
This campaign “Play with a Purpose” is a tribute to her memory. I am hoping to direct funds raised towards enhancing improved coordination between doctors to protect transplanted kidneys during the treatment of other medical issues. Improved communication and cooperation between healthcare providers can help ensure that treatments do not inadvertently harm the transplanted organ. By focusing on this aspect of care, we can provide not just time, but more quality life, for CKD patients and their families.
Fundraising efforts will include volleyball tournaments, community events, and various activities that Paula enjoyed. These events are not just about raising money, but also about bringing people together to celebrate life, just as Paula always did. She was soo very grateful for the time she received through receipt of her father’s kidney. I hope to foster a sense of community, raise awareness about CKD, and gather the necessary resources to make a significant impact for Kidney Patients.
The goal... no matter how long it takes...an ambitious $42,000 to honor her 42 years of life, and the "answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything"
Your support will make a real difference. Whether you participate in our events, donate (Funds or Organs!), or help spread the word… Your contribution is invaluable. Together, we can honor Paula's legacy and improve the lives of countless individuals battling Chronic Kidney Disease.
I hope you join us in making a lasting impact and providing hope for a brighter, healthier future.
Thank you for your generosity and support.
