Why I Run

I’m beyond excited to be running my first marathon with Team Kidney at the TCS New York City Marathon this fall! While this will be my first full marathon in my favorite city in the world, this journey is bigger than just running.

Kidney disease has unfortunately impacted two important people in my family's life. My grandfather’s battle with kidney disease ended much too soon and I will be running in his honor. Additionally, a friend that is like family to us is currently battling kidney disease and needs all the support and love we can give.

National Kidney Foundation was the first to identify kidney disease as a distinct, treatable illness. They developed the staged system of kidney disease diagnosis and treatment – a worldwide standard today – and release and update treatment guidelines to improve patient care.

Please help join me in spreading awareness and making these advances possible by supporting Team Kidney- a cause that's close to my heart and the reason I am running this year.

I’m looking forward to every step of this journey, knowing that I’m helping make a difference in the lives of those affected by kidney disease.
