Why I run
For over a year, I have been working in a research lab in Cambridge, MA studying rare genetic kidney diseases. Every day, my colleagues and I search for answers—trying to understand these diseases at their roots and develop next generation therapeutics that could one day change lives.
Through this work, I have gained a tremendous appreciation for the strength of the patients and families facing kidney disease. Right now, there are 37 million American adults living with kidney disease, and more than 1 in 7 people have it but aren’t aware. Although there are treatments to slow its progression, chronic kidney disease has no cure. We urgently need new therapies, but unfortunately the road from scientific discovery to life-changing treatment is not easy. While this challenge has not deterred us, it has inspired me to find ways that I can support patients today.
I am honored to be running the 2025 TCS New York City Marathon to support the National Kidney Foundation. By contributing to this incredible organization, we can enable them to support patients and families, accelerate innovation in kidney disease treatment, and eliminate structural inequalities in patient care.
Whether through a donation or spreading the word, I would be incredibly grateful for any support you can provide. Together, we can make an impact on patients battling kidney disease today.
Thank you for supporting me and for supporting Team Kidney!
