Why I Run
Right now, there are 37 million American adults are living with kidney disease for so many reasons. If you know me, you most likely know my story. My mom and I both suffer from Uromodulin kidney disorder, which is a very rare form of kidney disease. My mom was on dialysis before receiving her life saving transplant from a deceased donor who signed up to give the gift of life. We have walked and fundraised with the National Kidney Foundation for as long as I can remember. I have also lived all my life with this disease, until my adopted hero of a brother donated his kidney to me in 12/22. I started running not long after my transplant and fell in love with the sport. I have completed two half marathons, and this will be my second time tackling the 26.2 Running has allowed me to show up for myself, and prove that no disease defines any one person, no matter what their circumstance.
National Kidney Foundation is revolutionizing the fight to save lives by eliminating preventable kidney disease, accelerating innovation for the dignity of the patient experiencing, and promoting DONATION aka the gift of life.
Join me in making these advances possible by donating to my efforts!
Thank you for your support!
