Why I am fundraising for National Kidney Foundation
This is the fifth year that my Uncle Richard and I I have organized a group 2.5/5-mile swim across Cass Lake. We are swimming this year to raise funds that support the National Kidney Foundation. The organization supports cures to kidney disease and patients currently undergoing kidney care. 1 in 3 people are at risk for kidney disease. 1 in 7 people have it but aren’t aware.
Right now, 35.5 million American adults are living with kidney disease, including my dad. He started dialysis in November of 2023 and has been waiting for a donor match since then. My dad goes to kidney dialysis three times a week, four hours each time, and we are hoping that his wait for a donor ends soon.
