Why we are fundraising for National Kidney Foundation

Swim Your Cass Off started at Richard Simtob's house, swimming Cass Lake in the summer to train for triathlons. Since then, he has hosted a 2.5/5-mile swim to celebrate the summer. In late 2023, Richard's brother-in-law was diagnosed with renal failure, requiring medical support for his kidneys. He is currently on the wait list for a kidney replacement. 

Right now, 35.5 million American adults are living with kidney disease. In the fifth annual Swim Your Cass Off event, we are raising vital funds to support the National Kidney Foundation (NKF) and expand public conversation from kidney disease to kidney health.

CKDintercept® continues making progress toward detecting kidney disease at its earliest stages through primary care offices and raising the national priority of kidney disease. The new CKDI: Lab Engagement Plan is simplifying ordering tests for kidney disease so that it can be detected earlier through the new Kidney Profile.
